In honor of Brian King, former North Coast Health Board Chair, and in partnership with The Beck Center for the Arts, North Coast Health will make scholarships available to our patients through a newly established Creative Arts Therapy Scholarship Program.
The Creative Arts Therapy Scholarship Program at North Coast Health is a program to provide a creative arts intervention to support patient health and well-being. It is well documented that the arts have a role in medical treatments and wellness. North Coast Health and the Beck Center for the Arts propose through this program to not only provide creative arts opportunities to patients, but to provide improved health and wellness from participation in this program.
This program was initiated through monies provided by First Federal Lakewood, in memory of Brian King. Brian was an advocate for the medically underserved and recognized the importance of the arts in healing. He was not only a mentor and a friend, but used art in his own healing – for expression and therapy, while living with the challenges of terminal disease. It is with honor and dedication in memory of Brian King, that the North Coast Health Creative Arts Therapy Scholarship Program will be launched.
To learn more about the program or to fund a scholarship, contact North Coast Health Development Director Ellen Ospelt at 216-228-7878 x107 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
