Singers’ Club of Cleveland Benefit Concert
May 14, 2016
A concert to benefit North Coast Health will be presented by the Singers’ Club of Cleveland on Saturday evening, May 14, 2016 at 7:30 pm at Rocky River Presbyterian Church. The theme of the concert is “All That Jazz” and will include many well-known selections from America’s most distinctive contribution to the world of music.
Among the numbers scheduled are Sing Sing Sing, Fascinating Rhythm, Take 5, When the Saints Go Marching In, Blue Skies, The Pink Panther, and Cry Me a River. A Cleveland State University jazz combo will also perform. The Club is delighted to have this opportunity to sing in the beautiful sanctuary of the Rocky River church and to join it in supporting North Coast Health.
The Singers’ Club is a male chorus dating back to 1892, making it the oldest performing arts organization in our area and has included men from all walks of life and all parts of our community. It is comfortable with almost all styles of music, including classical, pop, rock, gospel, jazz and, of course, traditional men’s glee club repertoire. The Club’s 60+ singing members present three subscription concerts each season at Breen Center for the Performing Arts at St. Ignatius. During the current season it has been under the direction of Interim Music Director Robert Bellisario. Please visit the Club’s website at www.singersclub.org.
Rocky River Presbyterian Church is located at 21750 Detroit Road in Rocky River. All of the proceeds of the free-will offering received during the concert will go to North Coast Health.
